What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
I studied foreign languages, but the only language I would identify myself as being fluent in is English (not including my native language). I studied Spanish and Italian and I also learned Portuguese on the side.
I haven’t been actively using these languages for the last 6 years and I am simply not fluent anymore. Language is a muscle that needs practice to stay alive, and I haven’t had any. I do listen to their music, interact with content from their creators online, but I don’t have anyone to talk to and practice the language myself.
Imagine my frustration when someone hears what I studied and then they drop the “Can you say something in XX language?”
Even when you are fluent in several languages, that question pushes all of the vocabulary out of your head. I once did it on purpose to a friend who started to learn Chinese, if I remember well, and I saw it in her eyes that she wanted to smack me. And if she had done it, I wouldn’t blame her.
Love,
Luna

That would be so annoying!
I have been studying Spanish for almost two years now, almost every day. I can read it and write it even a little, but have a hard time understanding it when spoken. Actually pulling it together to actually SAY something in Spanish is still quite difficult. But I am going to hang in there. Speaking is the hardest and what I want to be able to do the most.
