If I could, I would remove the word basically from my English vocabulary. I hadn’t noticed it before I returned to creating YT videos, but I use that word all the time. If you check out my last YT video, you will know exactly what I am talking about and I stand behind the title of this post: Do not turn it into a drinking game because you might end up in an ER.
Whenever I try to explain something or I go on some type of a little rant in one of my videos, I will constantly start my sentences with “basically”. I don’t know why I do it when I am talking to the camera, because I use English when I work and I don’t do it during meetings or when I write emails. This is exclusive to my Youtube creating space.
I am going to try and change it and use it less, but it’s probably going to take some time or I am just going to replace that word with some other.
