I sleep with my knees right up to my chin
I cannot recollect a day when my shoulders
weren’t toucing my ears
I am balancing a sword between my shoulder blades
I don’t mind the bloody train
In my silence I escape to a different world
It’s all to just compensate
My lips don’t like to separate
My voice became a stranger to me
Is it the “what ifs”
Is it being rational or scared?
Down to earth or wishing to be under it?
Do I reasonably doubt myself
or am I simply afraid of what I could do
if I took up just a little bit more space?
