Just waiting for the weekend

Guys, I can’t this week. It’s one of those weeks that just doesn’t seem to end and I cannot even remember when it began.

I have so much work to do, I had to work two afternoon shifts because I had doctor appointments in the morning, I am still struggling with insomnia and to top it all off, I got my period.

Also, my visits to the doctor have not been the greatest. I paid to get a full checkup done (to see a doctor, do an EKG, abdomen ultrasound, blood work etc.) because I just really wanted to do that for myself. I didn’t get everything done yet and I got a bunch of recommendations for further check ups, including getting my lungs checked out because there’s allegedly something wrong with my breathing, like I cannot inhale deep enough or something (I didn’t quite understand the doctor, I am waiting to get everything in writing)

The morning I had my blood taken out was a disaster. As a kid, I was severely traumatized by needles because I was too skinny and the nurses could never find my veins and they turned me into a dart board once. It hasn’t happened to me since I was a teenager and yesterday, for some reason, the nurse couldn’t find my vein again. When I tell you I almost lost it when I figured out she was poking my hand with her finger a bit too long and then she told me that my veins are “very deep” in and that it might hurt. She had to use my other hand as well which was not pleasant and I almost cried. I honestly had no idea how much of that childhood trauma was still with me. The nurse did manage to get my vein in the other arm and she had me sit down a bit after everything was done because she was scared I would get lightheaded.

And today I finally got back to my regular shift at work and I had plans to workout when I get home. When I tell you that I cannot move a finger with how tired I am, I am not joking. I spent the whole day staring at excel files and I am mentally exhausted and it’s showing on my body and my overall mood.

I need to recharge this weekend and eat some good food and finally get some sleep.

Here’s hoping that tomorrow goes better!

Love,
Luna

  1. Hi Luna,

I suggest you check out https://celiac.org/ and take their symptoms inventory. I am gluten intolerant, which means I cannot have wheat, rye, barley, etc., or anything that has gluten. I suffered a lot and was thin as a child. I have two hernias–one hiatal, one umbilical. I was born with them. My son was born with two hernias, both inguinal. It appears one of his sons recently had surgery for two hernias. There is some inherited condition running in my family. Celiac disease is an autoimmune inherited disorder that affects not only your body, but your mind. I have struggled with some of the problems you have. I also have food allergies.
There are blood tests you can take to rule out celiac. There are food allergy tests too.
But I will tell you, as a former medical transcriptionist for 14 years, the doctors don’t want you to be well. You need to do your own investigation.
I hope you will check out the above link. I hope it can give you some insight into your issues. I hope you read your emails.
    Blessings to you.
    Sue
P.S. It might behoove you not to address fellow women as “guys.” I know it’s very popular, but when you do that, you are part of the transgender movement, which I hope you are not.
    Take care.

  2. Sorry you went through all of that. You must be drained. If I could I would have been there with you through it all. And made sure that this weekend everything had to do with just taking care of you. But you got this, you will wake up Sunday morning fully refreshed and ready to take on the world. Proud of you for trying to take care of yourself even though it caused some trauma to resurface. But you are a brave queen and I believe in you.

  3. The weekend will be here soon for you. I can relate to having to work at a different time than usual. This morning, I had to work at 7 AM. I don’t usually start until after lunch and I finish after 9 PM. I feel mixed up. I still haven’t practiced Spanish yet. I should do it now, but I’ll continue going through my emails instead. Oh, I probably already mentioned that the nurse couldn’t get into my vein a couple weeks ago when I had a procedure done. He tried four times then had someone else try. I didn’t flinch or say anything, but I wanted to yell.

  4. Sending you so much peace and a warm hug. 🫶🖤🤍

  5. Since childhood, I also feared blood tests, injections and drips.

  6. Lovely post, Luna. Looks like resting is in due for quite a bit and hopefully you were able to relax and unwind!
