In the beginnings of my YT channel, I used to make New Year videos where I would go through my goals for the past year and how have I failed and set some new ones for the upcoming year.
I haven’t done this year because I honestly did not have any goals or resolutions for 2023, but for this year I did so let’s see how I’ve managed it for the first few weeks of this year.
As I wrote in my last blog post, I managed to finish my book. I gave myself a deadline until the end of May to get it done and I’ve beaten my own deadline. I like it when I am in competition with myself and I win. I am currently in the re-reading stage of the book process and hopefully it will be up on Kindle by the end of this week or next.
My other big resolution was so quit alcohol. This makes me sound like I had some problem with it, but I really didn’t. I just wanted to quit drinking alcohol. So far, so good. I haven’t had a single glass of wine or beer and it was a bit challenging when I went out for drinks with my boyfriend and his friends because I didn’t know what to order at first. Usually, whenever I would go out in the evening and even during the day sometimes, I would mostly have a beer or three and now I was just picking from the very small variety of non-alcoholic beverages the bar had to offer late at night. By the end of the evening I was sick of orange juice and sparkling water but I pushed through. I think it would be easier for me if I liked soda, but I just don’t. I don’t think I ever went somewhere and ordered a coca-cola. Even when I am in McDonald’s I will opt for water in my meal. I do not like the taste of it and what it does to my pretty sensitive stomach.
Other than that, I am sticking to my blog uploading schedule as well as my YT uploading schedule. I also published my second poetry book which was definitely in my plans but I did not have a deadline for it.
This first few weeks went pretty well for me in regards to my resolutions. How have you been managing yours?
Love,
Luna
My latest poetry book is available on Kindle: Identity crisis
I have a new video up:
My resolution is to lose weight by swimming three times a week. I’ve been at it since March last year. So my resolution isn’t that new. But it is one I manage to stick to.
I am so happy to hear you are sticking to your goals! I started my weight loss journey last year as well and I am pretty proud with the progress. It also brought me back to running which I used to love and I started to experiment more with food and cook more. Swimming unfortunately isn’t an option for me because I am a weak swimmer 😅
Luckily, if I had resolutions, I don’t remember them so … I win!
or something
A win is a win!
👌 Nice
This is motivating. Thank you for sharing and I think it’s a cool idea that you go over your resolutions. Mine was also to stop drinking. No drinking problem either, just focusing more on healthy options.
