Mood decides

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

I think that I have several little hobbies and my mood always dictates which hobby is going to be the chosen one that day or week. Main thing is writing (of course), but I have to feel inspired in order to do it and I cannot really control that. The last time I worked on my book, I literally had a dream about a scene and then I wrote it down in the morning.

Another one is a hobby/everyday task and it’s cooking. I’ve gotten into cooking this year and even my NY resolution was to get better at making bread. I got hooked on bagels and kind of stopped working on my bread skills but I still cook and enjoy doing it mostly on weekends. I am a heavy meal-prepper because I don’t have time to cook every day but I do like to experiment with recipes on weekends or when I have more time.

I love to read, but lately with all the obligations I piled on, my time for it is very constricted. Before I go to bed, I am already too tired to focus on a book so I opt for Netflix, but I do believe when I clear some things off my schedule that’s going to change. Now my little workaround is to listen to audiobooks when I am running or doing grocery shopping etc. It doesn’t always work to perfection because I get distracted and then have no idea what happened in the book but it’s my only way to keep up with my reading/listening. It does work well when I am running!

There are many more I could write about, but these would be the top three. My hobbies absolutely change with years (outside of writing, that’s always around) and I think that’s the way it should be because hobbies allow us to explore new things.

Luna
