Creative power

What is your favorite quote?

One of the most wicked destructive forces, psychologically speaking, is unused creative power…If someone has a creative gift and out of laziness, or for some other reason, doesn’t use it, the psychic energy turns to sheer poison. That’s why we often diagnose neuroses and psychotic diseases as not-lived high possibilities
-Marie-Louise von Franz

I think this quote speaks for itself. It’s also something I discussed with my therapist while I was in the trenches of writers block after finishing my first book. I spent a little under a year barely being able to write anything and it felt like I was just wandering around lost.

While I was finishing my first book, I bought a giant piece of paper and wrote this quote on it. I glued it to the doors of my kitchen, which was exactly opposite the table I used to sit on while I would write and it helped me out a lot to deal with questions and doubts about my work and, more importantly, to stop me from quitting because of self-doubt.

The second part of The Stanhill Series is out and you can get it on Amazon: Beneath The Mask.
If you haven’t moved to Stanhill yet, you can get the first novel on Amazon as well: Little Rebellion
