Poem #254

Do at least the tears of an artists
have any worth for the world?
We started signing our work with them.

We want to create something eternal,
something that will live after us.
We want to be great, we want to be the best
and we wander the world not knowing who we are.

If you pick art, you will starve – they tell us.
It’s like they didn’t discover yet that anything
can be art as long as you do it with love.
Let the beauty seep into the mundane,
watch the whole world change.

  5. One of your better writes. And yes- they do, when they fall upon the right heart like gentle kisses.
