We have sold humanity for pennies
Every movement for change
was warped into a catering service
for the status quo.
Killing empathy and love,
using propaganda to convince us
that we aren’t in the same cycle
as those before us.
Civilizations fell
history was written
yet nothing was learned from it.
“If I was alive then, I would have stood up!”
but why are you sitting down now?
We are analyzing the past to see what
could’ve been done differently
while we carve new sins in blood.

Truth! Too much power and money spread among too few. As humans we’ve become professionals at making the wealthy wealthier and the poor poorer. I read somewhere that 63 people hold more wealth than the rest of the world’s population combined. The USA has almost a third of the world’s 2700 billionaires. In that light, the richest need to maintain power and control. Add in a dash of twisted religious fanaticism and a pinch of political grandstanding and a plethora of propaganda (much easier today with the advent of social media (and now AI), and we have a the perfect recipe to destroy humanity and the world in which we live.
