Poem #370

I wanted to scream
but the sound wrapped around my jugular
It traveled through my body
and erupted inside of me
wrecking the little peace I had
It happened enough times
that my veins are rubble.

All of those words
built up on my bones like stone walls
they are weighing me down
I built this burden in silence
and it’s going to kill me silently

I wish I could throw them back
I wish I could put those screams into the world
let them know how much I held back
to protect them and how little it gave me
How much I suffered just to not be called crazy
How much I lost with all these words I swallowed

Don’t forget that my first novel is available on Amazon: Little Rebellion
Also you can get my poetry books: Rehab and Identity crisis

  1. A powerful poem, I love it.

  2. A reflection of self-awareness. Well said.
