I was your little moon and you
pulled the stars down to decorate my hair
Your hands were burning in the effort
but you were ready to withstand
I never knew love like that
I was sure betrayal was in the shadows
A soul that has never known home
sees peace as the calm before trouble
I can’t lose control of the reigns
But how I want to
Just for a moment put aside the pain
and drown in your embrace
But I am learning to let go
Close my eyes without being scared
Because the dark isn’t powerful anymore
I have stars in my hair.
