What could you do less of?
It didn’t come with an off-switch
It wasn’t a feature that was built in
it was an unfortunate skill I acquired
A little assistant that lives in my ear
and does its best to make sure
I doubt every step I take
Left or right?
Up or down?
The choice will always be wrong
The fear turns into paralysis
the more the volume goes up
Maybe I should be the next Van Gogh?
The assistant just told me
I can lose the ear but still lack the talent to be great
It didn’t come with an off-switch
I was taught this.
